NOTES: Guthrie was educated at Eton and Oxford. He rowed for his Oxford University. Worked in the banking world in London and New York. He had his own “Dry Cleaning” business in Eton. He joined the Welsh Guards in 1937 and was at Dunkirk and D-Day. After war, he took up farming in Tackley, Oxfordshire where he became a Justice of the Peace and served on the Chipping Norton Council. He retired in 1957 and went to live in Spain. He returned to England in 1967 and settled in Seaton, Devon until his death in 1977
